Fears/phobias: He’s deathly scared of lightning. After it caused a fire from a tree which completely destroyed his house, he’s been freaked out from just hearing lightning’s companion thunder.
Talents: Extremely flexible and agile, also has fairly good stamina.
Other:
Personality: He is a social butterfly. He will talk for hours, let you put in a line, then keep talking. At least, when he’s in a really talkative mood. Other times it’s the opposite, but he’s still super duper social. Never putting somebody down purposely, he’s always thinking for his clan. He even personally taught himself first aid and carries basic medicines around to help injured clan members. He’s one of those people who will walk down a street in his home and half the people will know who he is and he knows them. It’s always him who’s helping people up, even if it means putting him down.
But this comes with his biggest flaw. While he’s helping them up he’s trying to get as much wisdom and knowledge from them as possible. The potential to know more has always lured him. He begs Genbu for more wisdom, and studies, hoping to gain knowledge, all the time. Any offers of higher knowledge or more wisdom puts him under your spell nearly instantly. And he being strongly religious doesn’t help. The possibility of somebody offering wisdom that will bring him closer to his deity draws him in more than anything else.
And then there’s the fact that he wants to be better naturally. Every human naturally wants to be better than the person next to him. It’s always been a saying: “How fast do you have to swim to avoid a shark? Faster than the person next to you.” But he wants to be even better. He wants to take the fastest man and lap them. Take a pro batter and catch their ball. Take a top NBA player and block their shot. The need to be better for him is both a blessing and a curse. It has led him to developing faster by putting him on the edges of safe training, but nearly got him killed many times.
History: Being born to a mother from France and a dad from Canada, he truly is a French Canadian. Having his grandparents only recently joining the Aqua clan from being neutral, as a child him and his dad and him were viewed cautiously, as was his mother for marrying such a man. But that soon changed when it was made obvious they weren’t spies by a forest fire striking their house, nearly destroying the place if they didn’t use a nearby lake to just barely hold it back until people trained in setting fires out got there. That was when he was six, and it is still in his memories.
School was pretty rough for him. He was always the geek of his class, and it was obvious. He had to get glasses when he was nine, his head was always in a book, and he was one of the only ones not participating in sports. But the one thing he was popular in was basic powers in water. He was always the best at that. It was natural to him, as writing might be natural to somebody else. He memorized it, some things he figured out before the teacher told them about it. It was as if he was chosen.
And then he was chosen. It became official from a priest. As soon as he graduated from High School he started more serious training, and became a priest. It was a big time in his life. It led to him wanting to be more, know more, control more. He controlled his will to become more powerful, but it still leaked out. He started to train himself in the powers associated with the currents of water, the way it sped up and slowed down, and how the current took the heat north and the cold south. Now he’s a fully fledged priest, and he’s started to try and embed himself in the clan by moving to the Aqua territory of New York.
Roleplay
Other characters: First One For Me
Sample: Mateush was walking across a bridge over the Hudson river, barely on the edge of neutral territory. The sea breeze shook the short bangs he had, provided a salty taste to the air that was indistinguishable, even for a non-Aer person. The waves beating on the side of the bridge slightly got onto the bridge, making it slippery for anyone who wasn’t used to water. But Mateush walking, not being irritated or ignoring these things, but instead letting them take him. It was how he felt strong. He stuck his hands in his short’s pockets as he stopped to look over the bridge.
Water pollution was evil. It had taken this beautiful river and filled it with trash. It had taken fish populated areas of the sea and filled it with garbage. It was destroying the glorious arts of the world. And that made it the Aqua tribe’s job to clean them. It would be a hard, painstaking, long process, and it would take many different Aqua settlements to complete it. And it was the priest’s job to coordinate these things. Mateush wanted to organize huge cleaning processes among the tribe across the globe, but he doubted the council would agree with the idea. He was just a young man who luckily got chosen by Genbu, after all. At least that was what some of the knights said.
Looking up at the sky he noticed storm clouds coming in towards Aer territory. They would probably just get the wind to blow it away. Or they would direct it to Ingis territory, try and start a fight. Who knows what they would do with it. Might just let it through and put some rain out over New York. Mateush started heading back towards the commercial part of neutral territory. He wanted to get his new phone and him back to Aqua territory before it rained.
