Hi,
I use for Dragon ran out of internal hard disk space. I got a larger 2.5 inch disk, temporarily installed it in a USB drive enclosure, cloned the old, small internal hard disk to the new, larger one. I then removed the old internal hard disk and swapped in the new, larger one.
Everything works great, except DNS. Notwithstanding Microsoft's notorious paranoia about piracy, neither MS Office nor MS Windows noticed any change.
But DNS is complaining. Apparently my system ID has changed, because of the hard drive swap. (It's still the same machine. I didn't change the motherboard. I have not installed DNS on any other machine.)
DNS is trying to send me to Nuance's website, where I am assigned some new activation code, based on my machine's identifier and my DNS serial number. But, of course, the new activation code doesn't work, apparently because my machine ID has changed
Presumably, I must contact Nuance, and hope they are willing to do the right thing. Will they? I registered my name and address when I originally bought version version 7 or 8, and I might have paid for an upgrade to 9. Don't remember.
As far as I can tell, DNS is now charging $9.95 per episode for support. I don't relish paying that. I also don't relish waiting on hold for two hours, being reminded very thirty seconds that my call is very important.
What's the easiest way to resolve this? What's the danger I will have to pay for it all over again?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
