Talents: She is good at sewing, keeping her cool, and horseback riding. Also, she is fast and agile, but doesn’t have much stamina.
Other:
Personality: Luna, in short, is a shy sweetheart. Having SAD, she is afraid to approach people, and doesn’t easily make friends. Because of that and her disorder, she doesn’t try to make friends anymore, and stays all by her lonesome self. She receives no comfort from her father, who does his best to ignore her. Luna is deeply wounded by this, but won’t admit it, pretending that he pays attention to her.
But if someone actually got to know her, which would take a little bit, they would discover that she is actually quite a sweet girl. Luna doesn’t stand up to her friends, and mostly hides behind other people, but she is loyal and will always forgive her friends. Actually, not just her friends – she believes that there is good inside everyone, and tries to draw it out.
Even though she gets bullied, she attempts to ignore it, keeping her head down and just walks away. Luna will never stick up for herself, and just waits for it to pass. She’s too timid and kind to tell them off, but that’s another weakness of hers. She is very weak-willed, doing what other people tell her to do. Luna is definitely a follower, and will always go along with the leader.
Something that a lot of people hate about her is that she is brutally honest. She gives the truth as it is, not twisting it in any way. Not wanting to tell a lie, Luna tries to avoid touchy questions, a good way to know that she has a secret. Her truths normally hurt people, not help, because she can be insulting or give away a secret that a person had intended for her to keep. Because of that, no one trusts her and doesn’t tell her much.
History: Luna was born to Celeste and Nicholas Larel, their firstborn. Her mother was a Keeper, with a magic level of 3, a respected Elementalist. Her father was a shopkeeper, selling homemade soaps and candles. She was treated with love, and grew up happily. They made a good family, but Celeste was always concerned about her daughter because of her disorder. She tried to help her make friends and protect her from the horrors of the world, but it didn’t help.
As Luna grew up, the bullying started, but she kept it from her parents. She never lied about it, just changed the conversation when school came up. Celeste guessed that something was up, but didn’t mention it, since it was obvious that her daughter didn’t want to talk about it.
Life went on normally for years, with the family prospering from their small shop and her mother’s wages. When asked, Luna would say that her dream was to become like her mother, a Keeper with strong Elemental powers. But then tragedy struck. Celeste was trying to break up a fight caused by two Elementalists, but it got out of control as more joined them and she died in the battle. When the people realized that she was lifeless, the fight stopped and most tried to act innocent. When Luna, who was 14 at the time, and Nicholas heard of this, they were both heartbroken.
Luna learned to live with her pain, while her father could never recover. He took to the bottle, and Luna dropped out of school a year later to help him. After time, she had gotten him off of alcohol, and had been managing the store. Since then, her father has ignored her, since she reminds him of his dead wife. Even though Luna wishes to become a Keeper, and a strong Elementalist, her father forbids her, since that was what got his wife and her mother killed.
Her father has taken over the shop again, and Luna is looking for work, since she wants to help support the small family, too. She wants to feel loved by Nicholas, but also wants to become a Keeper, while also still being bullied. She is struggling past her life, but always keeps on looking to the silver lining.
Roleplay
Other characters: Nope, she’s my first.
Sample:
Luna hummed a tune below her breath, a song that her mother had sung to her when she was younger. It was hard to remember the exact notes, since her mother hadn’t sung it to her in a long time. Blinking quickly to banish tears at the thought of her mother, she stopped singing, instead focusing on two boys fighting on the ground.
One had the Aer mark and the other the Ignis mark. Luna winced. Those two Clans were not a very good combination. There was a small crowd gathering around the scuffle, but everyone was either standing there awkwardly or cheering or making bets. Sighing at how no one was doing everything, she quickly forgave them, assuming that none had enough courage.
Walking to where the two boys fought, she pushed ahead of the crowd, standing at the front. Going over to them, she tried to pull them apart, and they stopped for a second. Looking at her with confusion in their eyes, the Ignis snarled, “Oh, so you have one of your Clan come to bust you out? I don’t think so!” Swinging a punch, Luna gasped as it came towards her!
Her face being slapped back, she gasped for breath, feeling a sting on her chin. The crowd quieted. Once again, water filled her eyes, and she blinked rapidly. Swallowing, she was determined not to give up. “Please, stop,” she whispered, cowering slightly. The Aer boy threw off the Ignis and stalked away, a disgusted look on his face. “You’re pathetic, anyway. Who punches a girl who can hardly fight?” But when he turned, the look on his face showed relief.
Luna stood up and walked off, keeping her eyes on her feet. There was nothing to say to either of them, but she, too, was relieved that they had stopped fighting. Why must there be violence in this world? Why couldn’t people just get along?
